Should states apply sales tax to Internet sales?

“Yeah. The state isn’t getting revenue from those sales, and right now they’re in a pretty big financial bind; so I think it’d be a good idea.”

“Yes, because you’re still buying it, just like with everything else.”

“No, because the shop is not in the same state. You don’t know from which state you’re buying.”

“There’s no reason not to tax things on the Internet if you pay it everywhere else. It would be nice not to have that taxed, but it would be good economically.”
