Should Lawrence institute a smoking ban in restaurants and bars?

“I think smoking bans are fine in larger cities, where it might offend some people, but this is Lawrence. Everybody smokes.”

“Places that serve healthier food might want to do that. Then maybe other places where some of the kids hang out and drink beer shouldn’t. That’s free enterprise.”

“No. People will smoke, so let them do it. Just make sure there is a nonsmoking section.”

“I can see it in restaurants, because it just puts off the food, but in bars, when you are having a drink, you want to smoke.”
