Are nightclubs generally safe?
Asked at South Wind 12 Theatres and on Massachusetts Street on February 23, 2003
“In the sense that a bunch of people are in a small, crowded space, they were never safe.”
“The vast majority are safe because the owners are responsible and want to cooperate in fire safety. It’s unfortunate when a few don’t want to abide by occupancy limitations that are put there for our safety.”
“Generally, yeah, especially in Lawrence. They seem pretty safe here.”
“I think in general they’re probably pretty safe. They need to do a better job of telling people where the exits are.”
