Does Lawrence need more historic districts?
Asked at the Lawrence Aquatic Center on August 9, 2003
“There are pros and cons both ways. Development of Lawrence would be great … but it would be bad if it changed too much.”
“Yeah, I think anything they can find around here that’s historic should be preserved.”
“I know people who have homes in historic districts, and it’s so expensive to upkeep because they have to keep up with all the codes. But I think it would be a really good idea.”
“I think so because they’re a form of knowledge and education for young ones to know what happened in the past in their community.”
