Should the trial of Scott Peterson, the California man accused of killing his wife and unborn child, be televised?
Asked at in South Park on August 3, 2003
“No. I don’t like to encourage this kind of circus thing on television. It feeds into a carnival sideshow atmosphere.”
“I think it should be up to the victim’s family.”
“No. I don’t think any court cases, big or small, need to be on TV. They should remain in court so there’s no influence on jurors or people involved.”
“I don’t know what benefit there would be unless it heightened awareness to stop that kind of thing from happening again. As long as they don’t sensationalize it for monetary gain.”
