Do you think high school English teachers should have an additional planning period?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on August 1, 2003
“Personally, I’d rather them only get one planning period, so they can evenly distribute the rest of the funds, so the rest of the high school curriculum doesn’t suffer.”
“In my experience, English teachers don’t have as much work as math teachers. They don’t need it.”
“They need the extra period. In my experience, English teachers do twice as much work as every other teacher, in terms of homework and reading homework.”
“If you are actually taking writing skills seriously, then they need as much planning as they can get.”
