How can Kansas increase growth in rural areas of the state?
Asked at Cordley School on April 17, 2003
“They’ll have to come up with some balance to give the farmers more money for what they produce to keep people in that community.”
“Develop businesses that allow people to stay at home and work on the Internet. That’s why people move to rural areas. They like that setting, but they need to able to work via e-mail wherever their job is.”
“More work opportunities. Jobs.”
“There’s been a proposal to start a national park out west. I think that’s a good idea. Turn it into more tourism and pasture maintenance.”
