How do you think the formation of political action committees will affect future Lawrence elections?
Asked at Hy-Vee, 3504 Clinton Parkway: on April 7, 2003
“I think that for a town as ‘smart’ as Lawrence, we make some not-so-smart decisions. Hopefully planning groups will help make smarter decisions.”
“I think it’s going to have a big effect on future elections. They’ve gathered into groups of like-thinking people and made themselves a lot stronger than the single guy.”
“It seems that as our town gets bigger, more and more of those things happen.”
“I think it’s going to politicize the process more than it has been. It could lead, hopefully will lead, to representation by area. Rather than the whole city voting for the entire board, having certain areas vote for certain members on the board.”
