What do you think job prospects are like in Lawrence?
Asked at Borders Books, Music and Cafe on November 19, 2002
“Not very good. I just looked in the paper this past weekend and there wasn’t very much. Maybe it’s just the time of year, but usually there are more during this season.”
“Poor. I’ve got a 17-year-old daughter and she can’t find a job. It seems like there aren’t many new jobs opening up. : It’s pretty frightening.”
“I work for NCS Pearson, and I know they have jobs open. I think it is always going to be challenging unless big businesses open here.”
“I think that there are not enough high- and middle-paying jobs in Lawrence. We need to concentrate on attracting the kinds of businesses that have good-paying, high-skilled jobs.”
