Should the U.N. Security Council threaten action against Iraq in its upcoming proposal?
Asked at The Java Break, 17 E. Seventh St. on November 2, 2002
“No, I don’t see that it serves any useful purpose.”
“No, because that would help the U.S. position in fighting a war with Iraq. It’s just the killing of innocent people.”
“No. Invading Iraq doesn’t help our position. It doesn’t help national security. It probably won’t make Iraq happy and will make them hate us even more.”
“A qualified yes. There’s no sense in issuing a statement without substance. The basic issue, however, is whether there is enough evidence to support a statement at all.”
