What do you think should be done with the thousands of tons of nuclear waste the government is trying to dispose of?
Asked at in front of the Lawrence Post Office, 645 Vt. on July 23, 2002
“Ideally, we’d find a way to shoot it into the sun.”
“I think we should stop creating it first. It won’t do any good to get rid of it if we only make more. There is no safe place to get rid of it.”
“Well, the current plan is to move it to a facility in some mountain. It should go there for now since they say it’s safe, but they should be working on another alternative.”
“They are trying to put it in one facility in one place, but with all the terrorist problems, that bothers me. … To have it spread out all over. … It’s kind of a catch-22.”
