How severe should penalties for harming animals be compared to penalties for harming humans?
Asked at Massachusetts Street on July 17, 2002
“(The penalty for harming animals) should be a lot more serious than it is. He ought to get serious jail time. People who do that should be tried as felons.”
“It needs to be a lot more serious. I think they should consider harming animals the same as harming humans. That’s disgusting.”
“It’s sick kicks for power. It should be punished severely.”
“Being an animal lover myself, I think … there should be strong, severe punishment for harming someone maliciously. I don’t care if it’s a person, child or animal.”
