Can anything be done to curb underage drinking?
Asked at Hy-Vee Food Store, 4000 West Sixth St. on February 27, 2002
“I doubt it. A lot of people are under the misconception that you have to drink to have a good time, so I doubt there will be a change.”
“More parental vigilance and continued strict enforcement of laws concerning underage drinking that are already on the books.”
“Not really, because the more restrictions you put on something, the more they’re going to want it.”
“I would say there’s got to be some way to teach your kids how to handle peer pressure, because a lot of people end up drinking because of the single fact that everybody else is doing it.”
