How has the drought affected you?
Asked at Westlake Ace Hardware at 23rd Street and Kasold Drive on August 25, 2002
“My family are farmers back home, so I guess I’m not directly affected, but indirectly. It’s a lot drier back home than it is here.”
“We are watering our lawn a lot more. We pay more attention to the weather and pray for rain.”
“We’re vegetable farmers and there is a real patch of drought just south of Lone Star, so it’s been hard on us.”
“My water bill has gone up and I spend more time in the yard. It really hasn’t affected me, except money-wise. It’s been bad for farmers, which I guess will drive prices up at the store.”
