Should parents of juvenile offenders be charged the costs of keeping their children in state custody?

“No. I think a lot of the juvenile offenses aren’t offenses in my mind and the kids shouldn’t be detained anyway.”

“No. I think you roll the dice when you have kids and sometimes you have no control. They should share the cost but not pay all of it.”

“No, because the children should know what’s right from wrong, and they committed the crime, not the parents.”

“I think that a lot of problems with today’s kids have to do with a lack of discipline by the parents and I think it’s up to the parents to make sure they’re not a nuisance to society, so I would say yes.”
