Should adoptees be allowed to see their birth records?

“If it’s known that they’re an adoptee then when they reach the appropriate age, I’d say sure.”

“Yes, I think so. Knowing who your parents are is part of your birthright.”

“I think my sympathies are generally more with the mothers since most give up their children for adoption with the understanding they wouldn’t have their identities revealed.”

“Yeah. A lot of people have the desire to know where they come from, and for the most part I think it would be good for people to have that option.”
