Wilma Lucile Rose

Wilma Lucile Rose, 93 of Baldwin City, KS passed away September 26, 2017 at Baldwin Care Center. She was born December 30, 1923 in Valley Falls, KS to John and Edna Searle. Wilma was a graduate of Valley Falls High School. She went on to work at the Coleman Defense plant in Wichita, Forbes Air Base in Topeka and later at Norge Village Dry Cleaner in Lawrence. On January 18, 1945 she married Lyle Rose in Salina, KS and he passed away on January 29, 1961. Wilma was also preceded in death by her father John, mother Edna and her brother Joseph Searle. She is survived by her son David Rose and his wife Shirley of Baldwin City and daughter Susie and husband Duane of Manhattan. Wilma had 4 Grandsons: Heath Larson of Manhattan; Chancey Larson and wife Katie of Manhattan; Chris Rose and wife Fonda of Ottawa; Jason Rose and wife Bobbie of Sabetha. She had 4 greatgrand daughters Landree Rose, Layna Rose, Finley Rose and Seeley Larson. Wilma was a devout Christian and member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence. She also loved listening to music, watching classic movies and most of all loved spending time with her family. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 6th at 10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence with burial following at Spring Grove Cemetery, Valley Falls.
