Ernest Ira “Ernie” Bone

Ernest Ira “Ernie” Bone, 41 of Lawrence, KS and formerly of Quenemo, KS passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his home. He was born November 11, 1974 in Houston, Texas the son of Larry and Brenda (Smith) Bone. He grew up and attended grade school in Lexington and Butler, Ohio. He was adopted by Elaine (Bone) Smith and lived in Quenemo, KS. He graduated from the Pomona High School in 1993. Ernie worked at Wright Tree Service before working at the American Eagle Distribution Center in Ottawa, KS where he was a Material Handler and Forklift Operator. He enjoyed playing pool with family and friends. He was a gamer and also enjoyed concerts. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harold and Evelyn Bone; a uncle, Donald Bone; and two stepgrandfathers, Tom Gazia and Adrian Marshall. Survivors include his mother, Elaine Smith and her husband Charles of Quenemo, KS; his father, Larry Bone of Mansfield, Ohio; his biological mother, Brenda Smith of Florida; stepgrandparents, Jim and Ardith Badger of Carbondale, KS; grandmother, Shelby Jean Gazia of Alliance, Ohio; two sisters, Amanda Remark and her husband Ronald of Mansfield, Ohio and Angela Ross and her husband Eric of Olathe, KS; Aunts, Uncles and many nieces, nephews and cousins. To celebrate Ernie’s life, a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 118 5th Street, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
