Phyllis Bell

Phyllis Elizabeth (Shull) Bell passed away on January 17, 2015 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Phyllis was born July 8, 1923, Topeka, Kansas the daughter of John Jerald and Lois Robinson Shull. Phyllis attended schools in Topeka, Kansas graduating from Topeka High School. She attended Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma where she met her future husband Fred W. Bell, Jr. who preceded her in death December 21, 2012. They were married on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1944 in Topeka.
Phyllis worked as a secretary at several places including the State of Kansas Board of Agriculture in Topeka; Beech Aircraft and Wichita State University in Wichita, and Kansas University in Lawrence.
Phyllis was a member of numerous organizations: Lawrence Music Club, Kansas Federation of Music Clubs – Life Member, Sigma Alpha Iota – Patroness, Daughters of the American Revolution, Pine Valley Christian Church – Charter Member, and former member of the American Guild of Organists and Ladies Literary League.
Phyllis was an accomplished musician playing the piano, organ and accordion her entire life. Her hobbies included music, genealogical research, needlecraft and travel.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Pamela and Rolando Santos and granddaughters Rosalind and Alexandra, Atlanta, GA; son Kenneth and Kim Kilgore Bell, grandsons Isaac (Lawrence, Kansas), Brady, and granddaughters Delaney and Cassidy, Lincoln, Nebraska; Richard and Sharon Sammon Bell and granddaughters Stephanie and Katherine, Sunnyvale, California; brother Dr. John R. and June Shull, Tyler, Texas.; and several nieces and nephews.
