James Bryant Davis

James (Jim) Bryant Davis, 58, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at his home in Englewood, CO. A private family service will be held in Lawrence.
Jim, the son of Robert A. and J. Nancy Davis, was born May 22, 1955 in Lawrence, KS. He graduated from Lawrence High School in 1973 and attended the University of Kansas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Growing up he was active in Boy Scouts, Kanwaka 4-H Club, Douglas County Trail Riders and enjoyed attending Pow wows at Haskell Indian Nations University.
His interests included a love of animals, especially horses and dogs, flowers, photography, music and was an avid reader. He traveled throughout the United States following The Grateful Dead ending in Colorado where he established a painting business in Englewood.
He is survived by his mother, J. Nancy Davis, siblings, Jeffrey Davis, Beth (Robin) Spencer, all of Lawrence; Tim Davis (Jess Barnett) and Melissa Davis of Shawnee, KS, and a niece, Katie Barnes of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Lawrence Humane Society.
