Leo Jake Bidinger 1932 - 2014 Lawrence, KS

Leo Jake Bidinger, 81, of Lawrence, KS., died February 2, 2014 at the Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, He was born July 19, 1932 the son of Jake and Margaret Bidinger. A graduate of Berryton High School, He worked as an auto mechanic and was a farmer for many yeas. Leo owned and operated the Stull Bait Shop from 1989 to 1996. He served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955 and was a member of the Perry American Legion Post # 142, and a former member of the Stull United Methodist Church. He married Mina Ann Redmond in Topeka, Kansas on September 2, 1955. She preceded him in death on January 11, 1995. Other survivors include two sons, Leon and wife Cristy Bidinger, Perry, Joe and wife Bridget Bidinger, Dacula, GA., a daughter, Lea Ann and husband Bob Cooper, Lawrence, eight grandchildren and seven great- grand children. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rachel Bidinger and Bernita Connor. Services will be 1:30PM Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the Faith and Friendship Center of Stull United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the church, where Mr. Bidinger will lie in state after 4:00 PM, Wednesday. Burial will be at the Stull Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Stull United Methodist Church, sent in care of the Barnett Family Funeral Home P.O. Box 602, Oskaloosa, KS. 66066.
