Patricia L. Pierson

Patricia L. Pierson, 62, died Sept. 12, 2013. at her sister’s home, Bel Aire. She was born Jan. 3, 1951 at Lawrence, the daughter of Robert L. and Frances R. (Mills) Fanshier. She married Richard Pierson Dec. 14, 1974 at Kansas City, Kan. They later divorced. She was a computer programmer for many years prior to starting her own company, Imaginative Designs, Kansas City. Mrs. Pierson was a Kansas City, Mo., resident since 1973 coming from Stafford County, Kan. She was in the last graduating class at Prairie Home Country School. She was in the first graduating class from Barton County Community College. She was a 1973 graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, with a Masters of Business Administration degree.
Ms. Pierson was a member of Kansas City Chiefs Redcoaters, Power Chics Board of Directors, and Missouri Iowa Nebraska Kansas Women in Computing Web Chair (MINK WIC).
Survivors include her mother, Frances R. Fanshier, Great Bend; three brothers: Randy Fanshier and wife Angie, Great Bend; Roger Fanshier and wife Gayle, Seward; and Brad Fanshier and wife Danelle, Lawrence; one sister, Pamela Phillips, Bel Aire; and 11 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, Great Bend. Burial will be in Eden Valley Cemetery, Seward. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to University of Kansas Cancer Center or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
