Ronald G. Cade

Ronald G. Cade, 87, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away June 14, 2013 at his home. He was born December 29, 1925 in Pomona, Kansas the son of Charles William Cade and Charlotte (Hemple) Cade. Ronald was lifelong Franklin County resident, with the exception of his military service years, growing up in Pomona and moving to Ottawa in 1963, after his military service.
Ron was a 1943 graduate of Pomona High School. Following his graduation he enlisted in The United States Marine Corp. He served his country from 1943 to 1963 attaining the rank of E-7 Gunnery Sgt. After retiring from his military service he worked at the General Motors warehouse, in Kansas City, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5901, both of Ottawa.
On November 17, 1951, Ron was united in marriage to Florence Harrington at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. She survives of their home.
He is also survived by a three sons, C.W. Cade and his wife, Mary, Lawrence, Kansas, Edward C. Cade and his wife Leslie, Cleveland, Ohio, Christopher Ian Cade, Olathe, Kansas; a daughter Mary Allen and her husband, Gary, Gladstone, Missouri; two grandsons, Matthew Cade, Adrian Cade, both of Lawrence; two granddaughters, Kate Cade, Alex Cade both of Cleveland; step grandson Zach Solotko, Cleveland.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass will be said 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2013 Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church at Emerald. A Rosary will be said 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends immediately following the rosary at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday.
