Shirley Carol Craig

Shirley Carol Craig, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at a Topeka care facility. She was born November 13, 1935 in Lawrence, KS, the daughter of George R. and Vivian E. Patchen Craig. Shirley attended Vinland High School and graduated from Baldwin High School in 1953. She attended Emporia Teachers College and Baker University. Shirley had resided in Topeka since 1957. She was employed by the State of Kansas for 7 years and retail business before retiring in 1995. Survivors include her siblings, Barbara (Dale) Bryans of Topeka, Carl (Suzie) Craig and Richard (Sandy) Craig of Lawrence and Ron (Helen) Craig of Mission, TX, sister-in-law, Lois Craig of Manhattan and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her infant sister, Margaret Jane Craig and two brothers, George Robert “Bob” Craig and Gary Rogers Craig. Graveside inurnment services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the organization of the donor’s choice.
