Brian Christopher Johnson

Memorial services for Brian Christopher Johnson, 35, Lawrence will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December, 13, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. He entered life eternal on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the University of Kansas Medical Center after an extended illness.
Brian was born May 21, 1978 in Hinsdale, IL the son of O. Franklin Johnson and Joyce Gerwing.
He was in active duty in the Kansas National Guard and had been on deployments in Egypt and Africa.
He was a graduate of Indiana Business College and was currently a student at the University of Phoenix and would have graduated in May in Criminology.
He loved his family and enjoyed watching football and gaming.
He married Heather Christine Shire on October 29, 2010 in Manhattan, KS. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include his parents; one daughter, Alexandra “Alex” “Munchkin” Johnson; sons, Austin-James Michael Welborn, Colby Lee “Cub” Bailey Welborn; one sister, Heather, E. Brown and husband, Jim; brother, Eric A. Johnson and wife, Bethany; nieces, Ashley “Spud” Brown-Aker, Taryn Johnson; nephew, Alan Johnson; brother-in-laws, R.J. Patrick, Joshua Shire; mother-in-law, LeeAnn Shire; and father-in-law, Michael Shire.
The family will greet friends Thursday from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the mortuary and again on Friday before the service beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m.
