Armistice L Albert

Memorial services for Armistice L. “Misty” Albert, 89, Lawrence will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence. Inurnment will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Glenwood Cemetery in Glen Elder, KS. She died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at The Windsor of Lawrence.

She was born on November 11, 1924 in Downs, KS the daughter of Gid H. and Pearl (Edwards) Williams.

She grew up in Downs. Upon her graduation from Downs High School in 1944 she worked in the tool crib at the Boeing Aircraft Plant in Wichita, KS. With the end of WWII, Misti returned to Downs where she met and married Calvin Dean Albert August 25, 1946 in Downs. They were married for 63 years. He preceded her in death July 28, 2009.

She spent her married years as a mother and homemaker.

For many years she was a volunteer with the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary in Lawrence. She enjoyed music, dancing, gardening, and her children.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Allaire, and husband, Rick, Dallas, TX, Pamela Scoville, and husband, Dennis, Salina, KS, Denise Johnson, and husband, Tommy, Lawrence; three sons, Gregory, and wife, Sarah, Lawrence, Christopher, and wife, Diane, Topeka, Kevin, Shawnee, KS; one sister, Bonnie Retter, Leavenworth, KS; 10 grandchildren Michelle, Chad, Jami, Katie, Stewart, Becky, Bryanne, Tony, Jennifer and Phillip, and 23 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.

The family suggests memorial contributions in her name to the Calvin D. and Armistice L. Albert Fund for Excellence in Geology thru the Kansas State University Endowment Association and sent in care of the mortuary.
