Milton Johnson 1936 - 2013 Neosho Falls
Milton Johnson, 77, passed away August 8, 2013 after battling Parkinson’s disease. Milt was born March 19, 1936 in LeRoy, Kansas to Milton and Hattie Johnson. Milt graduated from LeRoy High School in 1954.
Milt was a resident of Topeka, KS for many years. He served as a police officer for the Topeka Police Department from 1963 until his retirement in 1993. He was a graduate of the Southern Police Institute in Louisville, Kentucky. He also served in the Kansas National Guard. After his retirement, Milt moved to Neosho Falls, KS. He served one term as the Mayor of the city of Neosho Falls.
Milt enjoyed fishing, boating, attending horse races, and traveling. Milt would get out and go travel any chance he could, and he didn’t have to go far to enjoy his travel. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and he will be greatly missed.
Milt is survived by his three Children: Sheryl Dalin (Chris) of Overland Park, Kansas; Mark (Amy) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Jeff (Kathleen) of Lawrence, Kansas. Survivors also include his Grandchildren: Matthew and Sidney Johnson (Mark), Anya and Alena Johnson (Jeff), and Jenny Dalin Jones, Katie Dalin Brown, and Scott Dalin (Sheryl) along with two Great-Grandchildren: Taylor Cortez (Jenny) and Hensley Brown (Katie). Milt is also survived by his former wife, Francine Johnson.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at the Van Arsdale Funeral Home in LeRoy, Kansas at 10:00 in the morning. Interment will follow at the LeRoy cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Parkinson’s disease Foundation in Milton’s memory.
