Elton Dale Haid

Elton Dale Haid, age 78, of Lawrence, passed away at KU Med Center, July 31, 2013. He was born on May 16, 1935, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of John and Martha (Field) Haid.
He grew up and attended school in the Topeka area, moving to Baldwin City in 1964 and in 1968 he moved to Lawrence, KS where he resided until his death.
Elton was employed by Kansas Color Press and Packer Plastic in Lawrence until 1991 and was a printer until 1995 when he retired. He was a member of the GCIU Union and a member of the AACA-Antique Cars. He also served in the Army.
He married Mary Pearson on October 6, 1962 in Topeka.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother’s John, Ronnie, and Delbert and sister’s Edna DeMotte and Elsie Kopp.
He is survived by his wife Mary of the home, a sister Donna Moore of Topeka, and brothers Clyde Haid of Topeka and Glenn Haid of Meridan.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin City from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 3, 2013, at Oakwood Cemetery, Baldwin City, KS.
