Doris K. Kaiser

Funeral services for Doris K. Kaiser, 84, Lawrence, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church in Lawrence. Private inurnment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lawence. She died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 29, 1927, in Versailles, Mo., the daughter of Ben Cantwell and Dorothy Francis Cantwell.
Ms. Kaiser was the retired executive director of the Lawrence Housing Authority, and then she went to work for the State of Kansas and audited housing authorities across Kansas until her retirement in 2000. Following her retirement from there, she managed Prairie Commons in Lawrence for several years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lawrence, the Lydia Circle of the church, and the Red Hatters Club.
She married Edwin Kaiser on Aug. 5, 1944, in Olathe. He preceded her in death November of 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Nelson, Lawrence, Beverly Young, Lawrence, and Tammy Riesgo, Wichita; five grandchildren, Angela Hilton, Dustin Young, Amanda Riesgo, ShiAnne Young and Joshua Riesgo; and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
