Margaret ‘Sue’ Schmidt

Memorial service for Margaret “Sue” Schmidt, 68, Lawrence will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 at First United Methodist Church – West Campus.
She died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, at Brandon Woods at Alvamar.
She was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Bartlesville, Okla., the daughter of Jesse and Gena Chichester Salisbury.
She was a secondary school teacher in biology and physical science for Holmes High School in San Antonio for 24 years. She received an M.P.H. from the University of Texas Health Science Center and an M.S. from Avila College.
She served as an elder for Forest Hills Presbyterian Church in Helotes, Texas. She was an active member of Oxford United Methodist Church in San Antonio and the First United Methodist Church in Bartlesville. She attended the West Campus First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.
Survivors include two daughters, Christin Williams, Katy, Texas, and Carol Nichol and husband Keith, Pflugerville, Texas; a sister, Karen Salisbury Henry and husband Gary, Lawrence; a brother, Thomas Salisbury and wife Ellen, of San Carlos, Calif.; two granddaughters, Grace Williams and Charlotte Bailey; and a niece, Liz Walsh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Elizabeth Salisbury, and son Stephen Schmidt.
The family suggests memorials to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
