Gayle Anderson Birdsong 1949 - 2010 Webster Groves, Mo.
Episcopal services for Gayle Anderson Birdsong, 61, Webster Groves, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Webster Hills United Methodist Church, 698 W. Lockwood Ave., Webster Groves.
Mrs. Birdsong died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, from a brain tumor at St. Anthony’s de Greeff Hospice House in St. Louis.
She was born April 21, 1949, in Lawrence, Kan., the daughter of Raymond and Hazel Anderson. She graduated from Lawrence High School.
After graduating from Drury University in Springfield and a 21-year career at various manufacturing plants at Monsanto Company, Mrs. Birdsong worked as a project manager and chief operating officer, endeavored for local social service agencies, and led mission projects for the Missouri United Methodist Conference and Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana. She was an accountant and she volunteered at the Emmanuel Food Pantry.
She married Jerre E. Birdsong in January 1990. He survives of the home.
Other survivors included two daughters, Nancy Turner and Jeff Birkenmeier, Wentzville, and Meghan Birdsong, Lebanon, Ill.; a grandson, Alexander Birkenmeier; and her mother, two brothers, Bob Anderson and wife Betsi, and Bill Anderson and wife Marguerite, and two sisters, Mary Anderson and Jane Anderson, all of Lawrence.
She was preceded in death by her father.
