Mass of Christian Burial for Ronn D. Heise, 44, Russell, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.Mr. Heise died Monday, Jan. 2, 2006, at Hays Medical Center.He was born July 5, 1961, in Westmoreland, the son of Harold and Theresa Navinskey Heise. He graduated from El Dorado High School in 1979. He attended Butler County Community College and received a degree in mortuary science from Kansas City Kansas Community College in 1981.Mr. Heise had worked at Kirby-Morris Funeral Home in El Dorado. He worked at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa, Baldwin and Overbrook and owned these funeral homes from 1990 until 2003, when he purchased Pohlman-Heise Mortuary & Monuments in Russell and Natoma.He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus in Russell. In Ottawa, he was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and a former member of the Ottawa Library Board, Ottawa Elks Lodge, Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2700, Ottawa-Franklin County Economic Development Board and the Knights of Columbus.He was a member and past president of the Ottawa Rotary Club and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Russell Rotary Club and Russell Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the National Funeral Directors Assn., and served as vice president on the board of directors of the Kansas Funeral Directors and Embalmers Assn. He also had served the association as the chairman of the medical liaison committee. He also was active in Ducks Unlimited.Survivors include his wife, Ty R. Heise, of the home; his parents, El Dorado; two sons, Bradley Heise, of the home, and Kyle Fetters, Manhattan; two daughters, Ashley Heise, Manhattan, and Alexis Heise, of the home; and a brother, Rick, Augusta.His first wife, Paula Wise Heise, died earlier.Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Pohlman-Heise Mortuary in Russell, with a vigil and Knights of Columbus rosary at 5:30 p.m. today, followed by a service of memorial tributes. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Ottawa, with a rosary at 6 p.m. Friday followed by a service of memorial tributes.The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Education Fund, Baptismal Font at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Russell or Sacred Heart School in Ottawa, sent in care of Pohlman-Heise Mortuary, 610 N.
