Flora Dee Brown Johnson

Baldwin – Services for Flora Dee Brown Johnson, 88, Baldwin, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Roberts Funeral Home in Baldwin. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa.Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday, April 25, 2006, at Baldwin Care Center.She was born Oct. 15, 1917, in Booneville, Ark., the daughter of Dee L. and Lydia Mae Crawley Brown. She attended schools in Seminole, Okla., and graduated from Ottawa High School in 1935.Mrs. Johnson worked at Mode-O-Day in Ottawa and Hercules Sunflower Ammunition Plant in De Soto. She later worked at Bendix in Kansas City, Kan., and retired in 1976.She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Ottawa, where she taught Bible school and was active in the United Methodist Women. She also taught Bible school at New Hope Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kan. She was a Parent Teacher Assn. member and Cub Scout leader.She married Leo Henry Johnson on Oct. 7, 1947, in Hebron, Neb. He died Oct. 17, 1975. Survivors include two sons, John L. “Bimbo,” Baldwin, and Carl D., Ottawa; two brothers, Jessie Brown, Gardner, and J.C. Brown, Baldwin; a sister, Dora Brown Clark, Kansas City, Kan.; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.The family suggests memorials to Teen Challenge at New Life Assembly of God in Baldwin, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O.
