Raiders’ late rally falls short in 7-3 loss

The Lawrence Raiders youth baseball team put up a fight against the Central Missouri Prospects on Friday night at Free State High, but it was too little, too late. Once again, it was a big inning that put the Raiders in a hole they couldn’t escape — a common theme this summer. The Raiders lost, 7-3, dropping their first three games in the MB Tournament this weekend and continuing a skid in which they’ve lost 13 of their last 15 games. By Bobby Nightengale

After spending all summer playing in open gyms, lifting weights and conditioning, Lawrence High’s volleyball players are wrapping things up by playing alongside each other in a weeklong team camp. Free State Karlin broke a tie with two runs in the sixth inning to defeat the Lawrence Raiders, 4-2, in youth baseball Tuesday night at Lawrence High.
Raiders lose two at Pittsburg tourney

Jacob Seratte went 3-for-3 with two RBIs for the Lawrence Raiders in a 12-3 loss to the Midwest Bruins on Saturday in a youth baseball tournament. The Raiders also fell to Mac-N-Seitz, 6-1.
Raiders split pair of games in Pittsburg

Briggs Fish pitched a complete game, and Doug Easum hit a two-run home run to lead the Lawrence Raiders past Arkansas Express Williams, 12-3, on Thursday in a youth baseball tournament. The Raiders also fell to Pittsburg American Legion, 9-5.
Raiders lose to Next Level Baseball as hitting woes continue

The Lawrence Raiders youth baseball team looked on the verge of a big rally in the early innings against Next Level Baseball on Tuesday evening. The Raiders had runners into scoring position after reaching on errors, but that timely hit never came in a 5-0 loss at Lawrence High. The Raiders were held to one hit and struck out 11 times.
