- Wilson Hack (78), Alex Green (80), Matt Siler (81) and Max Soto (82) all finished as top-10 medalists, and Free State won its Class 6A golf regional title with a team score of 321 — beating out Olathe East (328) and rival Lawrence High (339), which also advanced their teams to state by finishing in the top three. - Although a few clutch at-bats in extra innings turned out to be the difference during Thursday’s City Showdown won by Lawrence High, 2-1, in 10 innings, at Kansas University’s Hoglund Ballpark, neither LHS or Free State would have reached that point had it not been for the four strong outings on the mound that came before it.
