4-H and FCE news: July 5, 2008; Caleb Flory and Mac Kenzie Flory, both of Baldwin City, will exhibit Angus cattle at the 2008 National Junior Angus Show July 13-19 at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. They are junior members of the American Angus Association.

4-H and FCE news: May 3, 2008; The 55th Annual Douglas County Spring Beef Show was April 26 in the Community Building at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds. It was sponsored by the Douglas County Livestock Association and the Kansas State Research and Extension Service, Douglas County. Karl Harborth, Erie, served as the official judge and worked his way through 99 beef cattle.

4-H Foundation dinner offers support to members: J-W Staff Reports; April 24, 2008; Scholarships will be awarded and there will be entertainment as well as a guest speaker at Saturday’s Leavenworth County 4-H Foundation annual dinner.
4-H and FCE news: April 19, 2008; Lone Star 4-H Club conducted its monthly meeting March 10 at Lone Star Church of the Brethren. Christine Caffey, president, called the meeting to order, and song leaders Rowan Plinsky, Bethany Ledom and Megan Williams led the group in a song. For roll call, members responded to the question, “Who is your favorite college basketball team?”
4-H and FCE news: April 12, 2008; The Vinland FCE will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Vinland Methodist Church. Hostess will be Mary Lou Brown. Paula Johnson will give the lesson on African violets. Roll call will be answered by what is your favorite flower.
