Gun-wielding suspects reportedly invaded a home and robbed two people inside Wednesday night in Lawrence’s Oread Neighborhood.

Police were dispatched about 9:40 p.m. to a robbery in the 1500 block of Kentucky Street, Officer Shawn Gross of the Lawrence Police Department said in an email to media Thursday morning.

A witness initially reported that suspects armed with guns robbed someone outside a residence then fled, Gross said.

When police arrived, they determined that the suspects had encountered the victim in the doorway, then went inside — where there was a second person — and committed the robbery, Gross said.

The victims knew one of the suspects, Gross said.

He said the police department’s investigation is ongoing.
