University of Kansas police say a female student reported a sexual battery Friday morning as she was walking on campus.

The incident occurred at 10:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of Louisiana Street, according to a crime alert shared by KU police early Friday afternoon. She told police that an unknown man touched her and then ran west toward Memorial Stadium.

Police described the suspect as a white man between 20 and 30 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches, with an average build, black hair and a “large beard.” He was wearing a pink or salmon colored shirt, boot-cut blue jeans and a light green baseball cap.

Later on Friday, police released photos they said were of the suspect seen in the area.

Police said the man was not considered an “immediate threat” to campus. They ask anyone with information about the suspect to call KU police at 864-5900 or, to remain anonymous, KU Crime Stoppers at 864-8888.

The woman did not require medical attention, police said.

The 1100 block of Louisiana Street is between KU’s GSP and Corbin residence halls and the main campus.
