Video: Candidate forum, State Senate, 3rd District
State Senate candidates Sen. Tom Holland and Republican Rep. Anthony Brown spoke at a Oct. 15 candidate forum sponsored by the local Voter Education Coalition at the Douglas County Courthouse. Each candidate was allowed a one-minute opening statement and a two-minute closing statement and were told in correspondence before the forum that candidates shouldn't raise any new issues in their closing statements to which their opponents wouldn't have a opportunity to respond. Questions for the forum were prepared in advance by VEC partners and taken from the live audience at the event. The VEC is a non-partisan organization made up of about 18 community groups that seeks to promote civil dialogue and broad participation of citizens and candidates through community forums. Watch »
