Video: Candidate forum: Douglas County commission
Douglas County Commissioner Nancy Thellman and her Republican challenger Frank Male spoke an Oct. 15 candidate forum sponsored by the local Voter Education Coalition at the Douglas County Courthouse. Each candidate was allowed a one-minute opening statement and a two-minute closing statement and were told in correspondence before the forum that candidates shouldn't raise any new issues in their closing statements to which their opponents wouldn't have a opportunity to respond. Questions for the forum were prepared in advance by VEC partners and taken from the live audience at the event. The VEC is a non-partisan organization made up of about 18 community groups that seeks to promote civil dialogue and broad participation of citizens and candidates through community forums. Watch »
