City to sell compost Saturday

Area gardeners will have another opportunity to purchase loads of compost from the city of Lawrence this weekend. The city will host a bulk compost sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Wood Recovery and Composting Facility, 1420 E. 11th St. City crews will sell the compost for $10 per pickup-truck load. Limited supplies of the compost are available, and past events have run out before it was scheduled to end.
