University of Kansas alumni can mark their calendars for a trip back to Lawrence this fall.

The university and its alumni will celebrate its 107th homecoming week Oct. 19-26, culminating with a KU football game against Texas Tech at the David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium on Oct. 26, according to a KU news release.

KU’s homecoming tradition, which began in 1912, includes weeklong activities in Lawrence, encouraging alumni to come back to town and reminisce on their days at KU and connect with other alumni.

Along with the annual homecoming football game, one of the most celebrated activities is the homecoming parade on Massachusetts Street.

Led by Ally Stanton, director of student programs, and Keon Stowers, assistant director of student programs, the KU Alumni Association and the Student Alumni Leadership Board will coordinate the week’s events.

A theme and other activities — including competitions for student organizations, community service activities and reunions — will be developed this spring.
