Those planning a trip to the University of Kansas’ Lawrence campus Saturday won’t find many buildings open, according to a news release from KU.

More than 40 buildings, including the Kansas Union, Spencer Research Library and Spencer Museum of Art, will be closed for about 11 hours while KU Facilities Services performs maintenance on the campus infrastructure.

The work will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday and should be completed by 11:30 p.m. the same day. The buildings will not have running water during that time frame, plus they will be without steam and heating and cooling systems.

Facilities Services is doing the work Saturday, during the university’s Fall Break weekend, to minimize the inconvenience for KU students, faculty, staff and campus visitors, according to the news release.
