Donations, volunteers sought for Lawrence’s annual Community Christmas Dinner

Volunteers help fill a to-go box for guest Frank Janzen, of Lawrence, at the 24th annual Community Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St.

Organizers of Lawrence’s 25th Annual Community Christmas Dinner are seeking food donations and volunteers.

The meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 25 at First United Methodist Church, 946 Vermont St. Home deliveries will also be made.

The following items are needed: 60 turkeys in the 12- to 15-pound range; 40 5-pound hams; and pies of any variety.

Meat will be collected at the church between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 18. Please call Deb Engstrom at 785-218-9347 or email her at deb5550@att.net if you are planning to donate meat.

Pies can be delivered to the church after 6 a.m. on Christmas Day, or call or email Engstrom for pickup.

Anyone interested in volunteering should email Engstrom.
