The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will hold its third and final public meeting Wednesday to discuss proposed changes to decoration rules at public cemeteries.

The Parks and Recreation Department oversees Oak Hill, Maple Grove and Memorial Park cemeteries. On Sept. 5, department staff presented the first draft of new rules for grave decorations, which would allow plot owners more decoration options, including limited borders and ground cover.

The decoration rules, proposed changes and additions made since the rules were originally proposed are available on the city’s website. The meeting will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St.
