Free State javelin thrower Bo Miller inks with Belmont

Free State senior Bo Miller signed his national letter of intent on Tuesday to be a javelin thrower at Belmont University.

“A huge thanks to my family, coaches and teammates for believing in me and working with me through this journey. Also thanks to the Man above for blessing me with this opportunity,” Miller wrote on Twitter. “I have made big plans and set bigger goals, and being at Belmont in Nashville, Tenn. is the best place I can be. Another big thanks to (Belmont assistant) coach (Joe) Frye for giving me this opportunity and trusting and believing in my talent and work ethic. I can’t say enough how thankful I am for growing up in Lawrence. This community has helped me in so many ways. Love you all. Go Bruins.”

Going into the Class 6A state meet on Friday at Wichita State’s Cessna Stadium, Miller is seeded second in the boys javelin competition with a throw of 197 feet, 9 inches.
