Oklahoma defeats Kansas baseball, 14-6; KU faces Texas in first round of Big 12 tourney Wednesday

Oklahoma rode a seven-run third inning and hit four home runs to defeat Kansas, 14-6, Saturday at Hoglund Ballpark.

The Sooners tagged left-handed starter Taylor Turski for nine runs (eight earned) and knocked him out of the game with two outs in the third.

James Cosentino continued his hot streak at the plate for Kansas. He, Tanner Gragg and Benjamin Sems homered for the Jayhawks (25-28 overall, 8-15 in the Big 12).

Cosentino 5 for 8 with two home runs and a triple in the three-game series.

Seeded eighth in the Big 12 tournament played at Chickasaw Brockton Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Kansas faces No. 1 seed Texas in the first round Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

No. 4 seed Oklahoma and No. 5 Baylor also are in the same division of the bracket as KU and Texas.

Second-seeded Oklahoma State, No. 7 West Virginia, No. 3 Texas Tech and No. 6 TCU are in the other division.
