K-State baseball evens series with Game 2 win over KU

The Kansas State Wildcats baseball team out-dueled Kansas, 1-0, on Saturday night at Tointon Family Stadium to even the series at one win apiece heading into Sunday’s rubber match.

Sophomore pitcher Ryan Zeferjahn (7-4) pitched eight innings and struck out nine Wildcats but could not get any help from the offense.

The Jayhawks managed just five hits — two more than K-State’s three hits — and dropped to 23-26 overall and 6-13 in Big 12 play.

K-State improved to 19-30 overall and 4-19 in Big 12 play.

Sunday’s first pitch is slated for noon Sunday and the game will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
