Jake Baker lifts Free State baseball past SM East in extras

Jake Baker blasted a solo shot in the top of the 10th inning to help send the Free State baseball team to a 4-3 road win over Shawnee Mission East on Thursday.

Play was previously suspended due to darkness on March 28 after nine innings with the Firebirds and Lancers tied at 3-3. The SM East campus field has no lights.

Jake Zenger struck out two to get the save in the bottom of the 10th. Before the game was suspended, Kyle Abrahamson ripped two RBI doubles and Baker hit an RBI single.

The Firebirds finished the season with a record of 14-6.
