Lawrence High junior golfer Ross Brungardt carded an 88 at Deer Creek on Wednesday, leading the LHS boys golf team to eighth place in the team standings in its season-opening tournament.

Brungardt fired a 42 on the front nine and 46 on the back, tying for 25th place. Andrew Wallen and Chris Conway tied for 43rd place by shooting an identical 95.
